You know me - you know I save cats and kittens every year. Kitten Rescue pulls them from the shelter, then relies on fosters like me to socialize them, vaccinate and fix them, microchip them, love them, and then find them a loving home. I am not a runner, yet I am running the 13 or so miles because I would do anything to save more of them. I have seen the difference the love of a furry creature can make to their humans, so please help me to keep on doing so. Help me save cats like Lula Mae Barnes, an FIV positive 4 year old, who was living on the streets of Downey, giving birth to dozens of kittens over the years before Kitten Rescue fixed her and saved her and found her a good home. Like kitten Louie, who I rescued from inside the engine of a car he had gone under to stay warm. It took four people two hours to get him out and he was completely feral at the time, but after two months of socialization in my home, he was adopted to a wonderful home. And my current fosters, Ava Gardener and The Notorious RBG who were pulled out of the East Valley shelter, where they had been under quarantine for upper respiratory infections. RBG has a skin condition and was practically bald, and her upper canines were growing in horizontally and causing her discomfort. Kitten Rescue paid for medical bills and extraction surgery and now she is healthy and thriving and both she and Ava are on their way to finding a good home.

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of homeless animals. Each year they rescue over 1,000 cats (and some dogs!) from the streets and city shelters and place them into new homes. Kitten Rescue is on the forefront of making Los Angeles a No-Kill City and they will not stop until all of the shelters are empty and every animal has a loving home.

Kitten Rescue is comprised of dedicated volunteers who devote much of their time to helping homeless animals, while juggling their own families, jobs and lives as best as they can! At any given time you may find them bottle feeding orphaned kittens, nursing sick cats and dogs to health, visiting high-kill shelters to save animals, running back and forth to veterinary clinics, trapping community cats for spay/neuter, feeding community cats, taming feral kittens, rehabilitating animals with behavioral issues, taking foster animals to adoption events, or delivering animals to their forever homes.

The Kitten Rescue Sanctuary is home to up to 150 special needs cats and around 1000 animals are cared for in foster homes at any given time. In 2016 Kitten Rescue opened the Kitten Rescue Nursery, where they bottle feed orphaned, unweaned kittens around the clock.
