On February 18th we got a call from the West Los Angeles Shelter Manager about a cat that had been brought into the shelter with two broken legs. She needed emergency vet care and the shelter was not able to provide it. Kitten Rescue said yes to helping Athena get the vet care that she needed. One of our volunteers picked her up from the Shelter and took her straight to ASEC to see an orthopedic specialist.
Athena had surgery, which included plates, screws and splints on both legs. She is one of the sweetest cats that we have ever met. We cannot even begin to imagine how much pain she was in, but through it all she has been loving and grateful.
As you can imagine, emergency orthopedic surgery is not cheap! Athena's vet bills added up to $6500.00 between her emergency vet care and surgery. Please help us pay for her veterinary care by making a tax deductible donation today!
