Memorialize Judi by making a gift to Kitten Rescue

It is with a heavy heart we share that Judi Mesibov (aka MsBruin on the KR Cam chat board) passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18th, 2021. Diagnosed with a third bout of Cancer earlier this year, in true Judi fashion, she didn't share the tragic news with very many people. She didn't want a fuss to be made, or for people to be sad or worry for her.

Judi became involved with Kitten Rescue in December of 2013, when she adopted two kittens. In the spring of 2014 she began volunteering at the Kitten Rescue Nursery. Then, in January of 2015, she adopted the infamous Charlie Bane from the Kitten Cam Room. Judi became one of Kitten Rescue's most dedicated Nursery volunteers, showing up every week, until June of this year when she disclosed her medical condition and bid us all, until we meet again….

Through the years, Judi showed tremendous care and compassion for all the cats, kittens and even pups that found their way to Kitten Rescue. Her particular favorites were the Power Puff Girls who have a neurological disorder called Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH). She was a fierce advocate for their wellbeing and for educating the public about why their lives not disposable due to their disability.

Judi built a family with the staff and volunteers and became an ambassador of Kitten Rescue to the cam viewers on explore.org from around the world. Her contributions included volunteering in the Nursery, participating in the LA Marathon, assisting with the annual open houses, transporting kittens and cats to and from medical appointments. She gave everything; her time, money, and energy. Most importantly, Judi gave her heart to Kitten Rescue. She sponsored special needs cats in the Sanctuary. She took on the role of gracious host for cam viewers visiting from out of town, as their tour guide around the city and at the Sanctuary. Judi hosted interviews with various staff members and volunteers to the delight of the cam viewers. She was the eyes for so many into the heart of Kitten Rescue’s operations. She had a talent for bringing people together on both sides of the camera lens, which brought her such joy.

Judi showed tremendous courage and grace in her final months. Her spirit will live on through her posts, videos and the memories we have of her. She will be missed by all.

We envision her beloved Charlie Bane, who passed away unexpectedly in 2019, welcoming Judi over the Rainbow Bridge, where they are watching over us all at Kitten Rescue. This makes us smile.

Her many friends around the world have asked us to establish a fund for those who would like to donate in her memory.
